The following Bundle Patch has been released for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 12.2.1.2.x

Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) Bundle Patch 12.2.1.2.171017 Patch 26642682This is the most recent and recommended cumulative Critical Patch Update (CPU) patch for this release. The patch should be applied according to the readme.

Prior to proceeding with this OBIEE Bundle Patch implementation and related downloads, refer to the Readme file for important information. It is important to verify that the requirements, installation instructions; support paths; notes; etc for this patch are met as outlined within the Readme file; which is available from the Patches & Updates download screen.

- Oracle BI Bundle Patches are cumulative.

Oracle BI Bundle Patch 12.2.1.2.171017 includes all the bug fixes released in Oracle BI Bundle Patch 12.2.1.2.170718.

To install the Oracle BI Bundle Patch 12.2.1.2.171017 patch, Oracle BI 12.2.1.2.0 must be installed in the Oracle BI Home directory. Subsequent Oracle BI patches can be installed on Oracle BI 12.2.1.2.0 or any Oracle BI bundle patch with a lower fifth numeral version than the one being installed. For example, you can install 12.2.1.2.171017 on 12.2.1.2.0.

UNSUPPORTED FEATURES:
- MaxL Perl Module will not be supported starting with Release 12.2.1.3.0.
- Essbase Native Security Mode Is No Longer Supported
- Caution! Oracle strongly recommends not using Essbase native security mode because of security concerns.
- If you are currently using Essbase native security mode, you should convert Essbase Server to EPM System security mode and migrate users to EPM System security using Administration Services Console.
- After you complete the conversion and migration tasks, Essbase security is managed as described in the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System User Security Administration Guide.
- Review the readme for more information.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Oracle recommends using the same version of all Essbase portfolio products (Essbase, Essbase Administration Services, Hyperion Provider Services, and Essbase Studio) and components (server, client, runtime client, API, and JAPI). When only some Essbase portfolio products are included in a patch release, the last released versions of the products that are not included in the patch are supported.
Essbase Administration Services 11.1.2.4.020, Provider Services 11.1.2.4.020, and Essbase Studio 11.1.2.4.016 are supported for use with Essbase 11.1.2.4.021.
Recommendation: After you apply a patch within the same release codeline, Oracle recommends as a best practice that you export the data from your databases, clear the data from the databases, and then reload the data.

Refer to the Readme files prior to proceeding with these PSU implementations for important information that includes the supported paths per component, along with a full list of the defects fixed, additional support information, prerequisites, details for applying patch and troubleshooting FAQ's.
