Prerequisite:
EPM System Patches - Before applying this patch, install the below mentioned patch as described in the readme for that patch:
- Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.4.200 (Patch 22452414)
- Oracle Hyperion Essbase Server Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.4.014 (Patch 24816764)
- Oracle Hyperion Essbase RTC Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.4.014 (Patch 24816755)
- Oracle Calculation Manager Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.4.006 (Patch 22806363) or a later PSU
- Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting Release 11.1.2.4.000 Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.4.006 (Patch 22462544) or a later PSU.
- Oracle Smart View 11.1.2.5.520+. Download the Smart View zip file from either OTN or MOS
Other Required Patches and Information - Before applying this patch, review the information in the patch readme:
- Apply the ADF MLR Patch 25113405
- Required Microsoft Patch - Microsoft has identified a security issue that could compromise Windows-based systems. Before installing this patch, verify that the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package installed on the computer is current. You may search and download the latest Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package from here.
- Required User Rights - The user applying the patch should be the user who was set up to install and configure EPM System products. Check the readme for details.
Before applying Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4.006, install the above mentioned patches as described in the related readme files specific to that patch.

New Features in this Release:
New Option to Limit Number of Concurrent Consolidations Per User Action:
A new parameter has been added to control the maximum number of concurrent consolidations allowed per user action. The parameter is named MaxNumConcurrentConsolidationsPerAction. The default value is 8.
When you select multiple entities in the grid to run multiple Consolidations, the Consolidation processes will run each selected entity, up to the number indicated by this setting. Any consolidations performed above the configured value will be queued as Scheduled Consolidations and run according to their Scheduled Start Status. If a serial execution is preferred, set this parameter to 1.
To set the parameter:
- Select Navigate, then Administer, and then Consolidation Administration.
- From Admin Tasks, expand System, and then click Settings.
- From the Settings table, set a value for MaxNumConcurrentConsolidationsPerAction, then click Save.

The Hyperion Product Management recently advised the release of Patch Set Updates (PSU) for Oracle Hyperion Essbase 11.1.2.4.x.
These PSU downloads are available from the My Oracle Support | Patches & Updates section.

Refer to the readme of each PSU to determine the supported path of each one and confirm which existing releases it can be applied to.
Note: Essbase Administration Services 11.1.2.4.015, Provider Services 11.1.2.4.015, and Essbase Studio 11.1.2.4.014 are supported for use with Essbase 11.1.2.4.015.

RECOMMENDATION:
Oracle recommends using the same version of all Essbase portfolio products (Essbase, Essbase Administration Services, Hyperion Provider Services, and Essbase Studio) and components (server, client, runtime client, API, and JAPI). When only some Essbase portfolio products are included in a patch release, the last released versions of the products that are not included in the patch are supported. After a patch is applied within the same release codeline, Oracle recommends as a best practice that you export the data from your databases, clear the data from the databases, and then reload the data.

This is a patch set update (PSU). It requires a full installation of Profitability and Cost Management Services for Release 11.1.2.4.000.
You can only apply this patch to release 11.1.2.4.000, or any 11.1.2.4.1xx PSU release.
Required Patches
- Oracle Hyperion Shared Services 11.1.2.4.002 or higher
- Oracle Hyperion Analytic Provider Services 11.1.2.4.014 or higher
- Oracle Essbase Administration Services 11.1.2.4.014 or higher
- Oracle Essbase Studio 11.1.2.4.014 or higher
- Oracle Hyperion Essbase portfolio products 11.1.2.4.014 or higher:
- Essbase Server
- Essbase Client
- Essbase Runtime Client (RTC)
Check My Oracle Support for the latest patches. Be sure to upgrade all components included in each patch.
Defects Fixed in this Patch:
• 24653959 - Submitted jobs could take up to a minute to display with correct status in the Job Library. With this patch, submitted jobs display immediately in the Job Library and their statuses are updated promptly.
• 25070783 - For Management Ledger applications, dimension cache loading is enhanced in this patch to load more efficiently. For applications with large dimensions, this results in much shorter wait times for accessing dimension members after updating dimensions.
• 25219342 - For Management Ledger applications with large dimensions, Smart View queries could take too long to validate and save, causing the screen to hang or time out. That problem is resolved in this patch.
• 25263275 - For Management Ledger applications, member formulas with new line characters cannot be supported. They cannot be properly imported by Template Import or LCM Import.Template Export and LCM Export are enhanced in this patch to remove any new line characters within member formulas so they will be able to re-import cleanly without errors.
• 25340413 - For Management Ledger applications with attribute dimensions, the attribute associations were not being imported on the base dimensions when Dimensions were selected for LCM import.With this patch, LCM export is changed to export the attribute dimensions first so they will import before the base dimensions. If you have encountered this problem, re-export your application after applying this patch, then the attribute associations will import correctly. If the source application is no longer available for re-exporting, the workaround is to re-import the base dimensions after the initial full import.

This is a Critical Patch Update (CPU). It is cumulative and includes all prior bundle and CPU patches.
If you have not applied libOVD (Patch 21895214) to the oracle_common home, then you need to apply it for new installations. If you have applied the Patch, then it is not necessary to apply it again.
The following OBIEE Web Services Critical Patch Update (CPU) patches are also recommended and applied to the oracle_common home:

- Patch 17081528: "RESOLVE_ENTITY_DEFAULT" PROPERTY DOES NOT PREVENT PROCESSING EXTERNAL DTD
