Exalytics Patch Set 5 (v1.0.0.5) is Now Available

Exalytics software update Patch Set 5(v1.0.0.5) and updated software product certifications are now available for use with Exalytics X2-4, X3-4 and X4-4 engineered systems.

How to identify the version on Exalytics T5-8

How to identify the Exalytics T5-8 version?

Answer:

Login to the node and run:

# prtdiag -v | grep -i firmware

For Example,

# prtdiag -v | grep -i firmware
Sun System Firmware 9.1.0.b 2013/08/13 09:59

To verify the system firmware from the Oracle ILOM, then login to the Oracle ILOM and run:

-> show /System/Firmware/

For Example,

-> show /System/Firmware/
/System/Firmware
Targets:
Other_Firmware
Properties:
system_fw_version = Sun System Firmware 9.1.0.b 2013/08/13 09:59
Commands:
cd
show

Can we use TimesTen DB in Flash drive without loading into RAM in Exalytics ?

Question) Can we use TimesTen DB in Flash drive without loading into RAM in Exalytics ?

Answer) No. TimesTen is a pure in-memory database.It has to be loaded in RAM to be used. Disk/flash storage is used purely for persistence and recoverability.Hence it is not possible to access data that is not loaded into memory.
