Using the “Powerview” Feature To Automatically Filter Knowledge and Other Regions in …

Using the Powerview Feature:

Oracle has so many products, and if you're like most customers, you are probably only interested in seeing the ones that you use; especially when accessing the Support portal. Using the "Powerview" feature allows you to do just that because it allows you to create and save PowerViews for a specific set of products, turn it on, and automatically filter Knowledge and other regions based on the filter.

For those of you who use both "On Premise products for Hyperion and Business Intelligence" (aka Business Analytics) AND Oracle Cloud products (EPM Cloud or BI Cloud), using the Powerview may help be helpful.

Below is an example of setting up a Powerview - feel free to create and manage this to fit your specific needs.

1. The "Powerview" feature is located to the right of the "My Oracle Support" section of the screen.

2. Click on "Powerview" > you will see the following selections.

3. Select "Powerview > New" - the following filters/options appear.

4. In this example, we will use "Product Line" to filter on Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence (also known as Business Analytics) and Oracle Cloud.

5. Once you have chosen the selections, you can "Create" it. Notice that you can also name the Powerview; especially if you will be using different filters and powerviews.

6. In this example, I named the Powerview "Business Analytics and Cloud". It now appears when Powerview turned on.

The above is used as an example. You can manage the Powerviews and change your filter criteria based on your own specific needs and requirements.

Oracle Hyperion Financial Management 11.1.2.4.208 is available

The following Patch Set Update (PSU) has been released for Hyperion Financial Management 11.1.2.4.x and is available from the My Oracle Support | Patches & Updates section.

The Readme file describes the defects fixed in this patch and the requirements and instructions for applying this patch.

  • Caution: FDMEE Patch Set Exception (PSE) 25616936 is strongly recommended.
  • Caution: You are urged to carefully read and understand the following requirements. Failure to comply may result in applying a patch that can cause your application to malfunction, including interruption of service and/or loss of data.
  • Before installing or applying this patch, verify that your system configuration (product version, patch level, and platform) exactly matches what is specified in the Readme.

  • If you are applying this patch to version 11.1.2.4.203 or an earlier version, this Financial Management patch requires Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)  Patch 25113405

Essbase Patch Set Update 11.1.2.4.028 is Available

The Hyperion Product Management recently advised the release of Patch Set Updates (PSU) for Oracle Hyperion Essbase 11.1.2.4.x.

These PSU downloads are available from the  My Oracle Support > Patches & Updates section.

Hyperion Analytic Provider Services 11.1.2.4.028

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Oracle recommends using the same version of all Essbase portfolio products (Essbase, Essbase Administration Services, Hyperion Provider Services, and Essbase Studio) and components (server, client, runtime client, API, and JAPI). When only some Essbase portfolio products are included in a patch release, the last released versions of the products that are not included in the patch are supported.

Essbase Administration Services 11.1.2.4.025, Provider Services 11.1.2.4.028, and Essbase Studio 11.1.2.4.026 are supported for use with Essbase 11.1.2.4.028.

After you apply a patch within the same release codeline, Oracle recommends as a best practice that you export the data from your databases, clear the data from the databases, and then reload the data.

README FILE:
Refer to the Readme files prior to proceeding with these PSU implementations for important information that includes the supported paths per component, along with a full list of the defects fixed, additional support information, prerequisites, details for applying patch and troubleshooting FAQ's.

It is important to ensure that the requirements and support paths to this patch are met as outlined within the Readme file.
The Readme file is available from the Patches & Updates download screen for each of the Hyperion Essbase components.

If you missed the conference, don't worry....you can download all of the presentations by reviewing the information below. More importantly, you did not have to be registered in this conference to access all of these content either!
